What does hosting mean?

The foundations of a website are contained in the hosting.

What is hosting? It is simply a rented space on the web for managing content such as photos, texts, code, software, websites, email etc.

Imagine it as computers that communicate with the outside world. When you pay for hosting you simply pay to occupy space on those computers.

What types of Hosting exist?

There is Dedicated Server hosting which usually costs around 1000.- CHF per year and there is Shared hosting which usually costs around 100.- CHF per year. The difference? Dedicated hosting is like having a villa for yourself, Shared hosting is an apartment building where there are thousands of other websites, of all kinds, porn, illegal, corporate etc. etc. when Google blocks a site in a building, it blocks the whole building.

Then there is the ticinoWEB solution, which is like townhouses, with only a few other residents, all controlled and verified as good people and with all the amenities, pool, hot tub, sauna, gym etc. and all this for 192.- CHF per year which includes:

   Updates of your site
   Maintenance
   Security
   Domain
   email with Unlimited GB
   Privacy
   Wordpress pre-installed

The ticinoWEB solution: a hosting designed to meet all these needs. A hosting that allows your site to load quickly, is secure and not expensive. It is a solution between Dedicated Hosting and Shared Hosting.
